DESCRIPTION

Embodying a serene landscape in miniature, Sedum hispanicum 'Blue Carpet' is a captivating succulent hailing from the rocky terrains of Europe. Its dense foliage, composed of tiny, needle-like leaves, transforms through the seasons; from a soft, powder blue in spring to deep, lavender purples as the cooler months approach. This dynamic color shift adds a layer of visual interest to any garden space or container, ensuring 'Blue Carpet' lives up to its picturesque name.

Growing to a modest height of about 6 inches, with a spread that can reach up to 12 inches, this ground-hugging succulent forms a thick mat of color that beautifully complements rocky landscapes, borders, or as a unique alternative to traditional lawn spaces. Its low maintenance nature and drought resistance make it an ideal choice for gardeners seeking beauty without the burden of constant care.

During the summer, 'Blue Carpet' further delights the senses with clusters of star-shaped, yellow flowers that rise slightly above its foliage, attracting pollinators and adding a bright contrast to its cool-toned leaves. The plant's ability to thrive in poor soil and resist deer and rabbit make it not just a visual treasure, but a practical one too.

Whether used as a ground cover, in rock gardens, or spilling over the edges of containers, Sedum hispanicum 'Blue Carpet' offers a unique texture, color, and form. Its ever-changing hues and easy-care nature make it a valuable addition to any outdoor space, promising a year-round display of tranquil beauty.

PLANT SIZING & APPEARANCE

Plant sizing is based on the diameter of the nursery pot (2", 2.5", 3", 4" etc), not the plant itself. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grow in depending on availability or time of year. While we do our best to ship plants as similar to those pictured as possible, please keep in mind that all plants are unique from one to the next, and display color, shape, and growth variation based on current environment, time of year, and other contributing factors. Please note that we ship our plants as dry as possible in the fall and winter months to prevent root rot or freezing. They will plump back up after planting!
